Introduction

FPS Vietnam Co. Ltd., is a Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Project Management Consultant company base in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Company is a fully owned subsidiary of Jurukur Bahan FPS Sdn. Bhd., an established Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Project Management Consultancy company in Malaysia. FPS was granted the investment license by Ho Chi Minh City’s approving authority on 28th May 2008.

Having established ourselves in Kuala Lumpur since 1995, FPS has set sight in 2007 to establish our presence in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to extend our services to our existing Clienteles who are making foray into Vietnamese property market, and at the same time, to provide our professional services to other local Developers.

The founding directors are Foo Chow Luh and Steven Tey Heong Tiong, both are members of The Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia, and registered Quantity Surveyors with the Board of Surveyors, Malaysia. Foo Chow Luh and Steven Tey Heong Tiong are also Associate Professional of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, United Kingdom.

The founding directors in FPS are very experienced Quantity Surveyors with more than fifty years of collective experience between them. Both the directors have been involved in a wide ranging of construction projects and the projects undertaken span across countries in the ASEAN region primarily in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam and projects undertaken include landed residential development, high rise residential development, commercial office development, shopping complex development, industrial building development, leisure building development, stadium development, educational building development, health care  development, warehouse development and infrastructure works, etc.

In line with the founding directors’ vision of emphasis on employees’ career development and progression, FPS Vietnam has embarked on the mission of recruiting local Vietnamese employees only with the ultimate objective of knowledge transfer. FPS Vietnam is fully backed up by Malaysia Office technically and on the manpower resources aspect.

At a time of long term global rising cost and great market uncertainties brought about by the American Sub Prime financial crisis and consequential world liquidity crunch that leads to the current worldwide quantitative easing, our core competency in helping the Developers in conducting feasibility studies and implementing strict cost and budgetary control of property development from the onset of any property development undertaking will go a long way in ensuring successful conclusion of property development undertaking. Vision

Being in a industry which is undergoing a tremendous change in the business environment due to the sharp downturn of the economic activities brought about by the currency crisis since mid 1997 and the American subprime crisis which started in mid 2007, we have witnessed a quite unprecedented imbalance in the built industry between supply and demand of all types of properties, coupled with spiraling land cost and building material prices which collectively, have resulted in a very tight margin for undertaking property development.With a careful evaluation and selection of design alternatives and construction methods through value engineering, tight control of budget and proper selection of the most appropriate procurement route in awarding a project, opportunities still existed for vigilant developers to make a fair margin from property development.
It is in these aspects that we believe that our distinctive competence can contribute positively to the competitive advantages of our Clients in re-positioning themselves in a down cycle of the economy/property industry to create opportunities for profitable property development undertakings. Our distinctive competence in terms of conducting feasibility studies, knowledge in design economics, value engineering, procurement strategies, and cost control and monitoring can contribute to the successful conclusion of any property development venture in achieving the desired quality, good value for money and completion on time.
